Please can we draw your attention to the great work that a group of our children are doing on the Mackie Mag.  They spend a lot of time writing articles and we would love more of you to see what they have been reporting on.  You can access the page by using the link here https://www.makewav.es/kerrmackie/c/themackiemag or use the Makewaves icon at the bottom of our homepage.

Lights, Camera, Parliament!

Lights, Camera, Parliament!

In October, Year 6 entered two teams into the national Lights, Camera, Parliament! Competition.  The idea was to invent a ‘law’ that you thought would benefit children and people in Britain. We entered the ‘storyboard’ and ‘script’ categories......and won both! Please open the link below for more information:

Lights, camera, parliament

The prize was a trip to London, to be taken on a tour of the Houses of Parliament and meet Baronesses, with whom we could discuss our laws.  After a tasty lunch, we then performed our laws at the British Film Industry- and our local MP, Fabian Hamilton, was a surprise guest there to award us with our trophies!

It was an amazing day, and certainly made our voices and opinions feel valued.  If you are interested in the competition or would like to know more about our day, please come in to speak to Mrs Harrand, Holly class.
